Explicitness

"Explicit" means "fully and clearly expressed; leaving nothing implied". Explicitness is an important principle a writer should try to stick to in his writing. In academic writing, the author's ideas, concepts, inferences, hypotheses, theories, etc. imparted to readers are often complicated, intricate, and even somewhat  confusing. Nevertheless, as a skillful writer, he always makes an effort to make himself understood more easily by using some writing techniques. In doing the following exercises, we can acquire the skills on purpose and gradually achieve explicitness in formal writing.
